Motor Vehicle Collisions
What we do
- General assessment of accident scene
- General assessment of vehicle and damage
- Investigation of accident scene.
- Preparation of report detailing causes and/or contributory factors.
The following investigations/determinations can be done
- If lights were on or off during impact (Exhibits must be available - macroscopic analysis)
- Determination of probable mechanical failures
- Determination of probable tyre failures
- Determination of point/area of impact
- Determination of possibilities and probabilities
- Physical fit of evidence and damage analysis
- Drawing of plan of collision scene when relevant
- Examination of vehicle brake systems, suspension and steering mechanism
- Determining the roadworthy condition of vehicles and components prior to the incident
- Photographing of scene, vehicles and evidence
- Analysis of data obtained from on-board or GPS vehicle monitoring devices
We therefore have four options available for our clients

Industrial/Mining Accidents/Incidents
- The investigation of the incident scene in detail and the collection of all evidence (information) for the analysis of the incident
- The collection of any exhibits that may require further analysis or microscopic examination
- The analysis of the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and their applicability to the incident
- The analysis of the incident in relation to the specific requirements of the applicable sections of the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA)
- The determination of any factors that could have contributed to the incident
- Recommendations for the prevention of similar incidents
Fire Investigations
- Determine the cause and contributory factors of fires in vehicles
- Determine the cause and contributory factors of fires in industrial/farming/mining equipment
Inspection Of Vehicles
The inspection of vehicles to determine the general condition of the vehicle and include the following factors
- Vehicle fraud/theft related inspections and investigations
- Mechanical and engine failure investigations
- Vehicle condition verification
- Determine whether a vehicle was re-sprayed
- Determine whether a vehicle was involved in previous accidents
- Determine whether a vehicle was built up from different sections/vehicles
- Determination of the originality of engine numbers
- Determination of the originality of chassis numbers
